Community Symphony Orchestra to present “An Evening of Music with the NCSO”

October 29th, 2019

On November 22, the Northern Chesapeake Symphony Orchestra (NCSO), directed by
Dr. Nelson Fritts, Conductor, and Mr. Edward Rosen, Assistant Conductor, will host an
“An Evening of Music with the NCSO.” The orchestra will present a marvelous program
of classical music, including works by Handel, Bach, Mozart, Respighi, Rossini, Strauss,
Del Borgo, and Barnes. The first half of the concert will include works for string
orchestra, and the second half will include works for full orchestra.
The Symphony Orchestra is a dream come true for Dr. Fritts who expressed his
excitement by stating, “This past January a small group of individuals came together to
discuss the creation of an orchestra for the citizens of northeastern Maryland. Six
months later, after months of auditions and practices, the orchestra presented a
fantastic program at its premiere “soft” concert on June 11.” The Orchestra is working
in partnership with the Cecil County Arts Council. The new ensemble has 26 players
who come from Cecil and Harford Counties. The members’ ages range from 11 to 71.
The November 22 program will be held in the auditorium at Perryville High School,
beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted. A
reception will follow the program.
Individuals interested in learning more about the orchestra and/or auditioning are urged
