Elkton Police: Mother and Son arrested/charged with Drug Violations

Drug Arrest / Search Warrant

During the late part of calendar year 2018, the Elkton Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit (SCU) began an investigation into illegal sales of narcotics coming from 10 and 11 Hollingsworth Manor, the residences of Jordin Rhodes and Shellie Owens. Rhodes is the son of Ms. Owens.

The investigation revealed both Rhodes and Owens conspired to distribute narcotics and used the above locations to facilitate their distribution activity. As a result of this investigation, officers obtained a search and seizure warrants for 10 & 11 Hollingsworth Manor.

On Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 1130 hours, officers with the Elkton Police Department, assisted by the Maryland State Apprehension Team, Cecil County Drug Task Force, and the Cecil County Street Level Crime Unit, executed, simultaneously, the search and seizure warrants on the above locations. Upon serving the search and seizure warrants, both Rhodes and Owens were located on scene and placed under arrest.

The search warrants discovered the following:

$3199.00 in U.S. Currency

10g of Marijuana

6g of Methamphetamine

66g of Crack cocaine Street value approximately $1200.00

24 Suboxone strips

2 pills

Bag of .22 cal. Ammo

3 magazines

7 Cellular phones

Numerous paraphernalia (digital scale, packaging material)

This arrest is the product of the Elkton Police Department’s continuing high enforcement effort to reduce the drug activity in this area and is a direct product of our zero tolerance enforcement approach. The investigation is ongoing, with several more arrests expected.

Jordin Brennan Rhodes W/M (18 years of age)

10 Hollingsworth Manor, Elkton MD

Charges:

Multiple Charges on both suspects related to drug distribution activity.
