Family-friendly fun is on the way as Great Wolf Lodge breaks ground in Maryland on its largest resort to date.
The future tourism attraction is bringing tremendous job creation to Cecil County over the next few years, with an expected 2,000 jobs during construction, and more than 850 new jobs once the resort is fully operational. Great Wolf Lodge Maryland is scheduled to open in 2023.
The Perryville attraction will include a 126,000 square-foot indoor water park, a 57,000 square-foot entertainment center, 12,000 square-feet of conference space, 700 suites for overnight stays, multiple dining options, and more. Located on 48 acres of land, the resort will be adjacent to I-95 and Route 40, making it an accessible destination for visitors from Maryland and throughout the East Coast.
“Being a short driving distance from several key markets makes Perryville an ideal location for a Great Wolf Lodge. With the tremendous support from the state, county and town, as well as our shareholders Blackstone and Centerbridge Partners, we’re excited to make this resort a reality. We’re eager to be a part of this community and to help contribute to its continued growth and prosperity,” said Murray Hennessy, chief executive officer for Great Wolf Resorts.
